Breast reduction, also known as mammoplasty reduction, is a surgical procedure that eliminates excess of fat, glandular tissue and skin, in order to reduce the size of the breasts.

Indicated for...

Women from 18 years old who want to reduce the size of their breasts, due to an asymmetry provoked by hormonal causes or an excess of volume (breast hypertrophy) that can generate physical pain -backache, neck pain.

Before surgery

First visit

We examine and evaluate your clinical condition and that of your mammary glands.

We analyze your complete medical history

– Personal and family history.
– Diseases (hypertension, diabetes, lung pathologies, close relatives having suffered cancer, etc.).
-Size, shape and firmness of the breast itself.
-State of the gland (pregnancy, lactation and alterations produced by the menstrual cycle).

Conclusions and recommendations

From the analysis of your clinical history and your motivations, we recommend you:
-Type of operation to be carried out.

Type of procedure

Surgery in the operating room, usually under general anesthesia, which usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours.

Surgical incision: vertical scar or mini T.

Recovery

The first 24 hours

Patients will stay in the clinic with the appropriate bandage and treatment with analgesic and antibiotic.

From the second day

Patients will be discharged with medication and following the instructions of the surgeon.
The appearance of an edema is normal, together with the pain sensation in low intensity, occasional pricking and tingling and burning sensations in the nipples, which will be treated with a mild analgesic.

Between the fourth and sixth day

The bandage is removed. The use of a special bra, sport type and an elastic band will be recommended.

From the first week

Some of our patients come back to work in a week.
