Telephone: (34) 932 381 651 | WHERE ARE WE
Men or women from eighteen years old whose chin is too depressed or, on the contrary, too prominent.
We carry out a physical examination and a personalized interview.
We study the clinical state of the facial bone structure and especially the jaw and chin, as well as the maxilla and the position of the teeth.
We value the state of the skin:
-elasticity
-turgor
-fat tissue
The surgery is performed in a surgery room, usually with local anesthesia plus sedation and in some cases with general anesthesia.
Two lateral incisions are performed to detach the tissues above the chin bone and create the pocket with the right size to place the prosthesis. Subsequently we close the incisions through absorbable stitches.
Normally, mentoplasty does not require hospitalization, except in very specific cases.
Once the procedure is over, patients can come back home with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication and the specialist indications.
During the first days it is normal to feel discomfort, swelling in the face and headache which can be treated with medication and the use of cold compresses.
The incorporation into daily life is relatively quick, in about two days, but the full recovery requires a minimum of two weeks.
